Optometrist needed at multiple correctional facilities throughout California. Pay is competitive at $75-135 per hour (up to $1350 daily as some facilities can accommodate 10 hour days) depending on the location. Travel stipend available at some locations. Immediate openings in Soledad (near Monterey), Represa (north of Sacramento), Avenal (between Fresno and Paso Robles), Delano and Wasco (north of Bakersfield), Susanville (north of Reno), and Crescent City (northern CA coast). Potential future vacancies in Chowchilla, Corcoran, Coalinga, Jamestown, Vacaville, Ione, San Quentin, Norco, Corona, Chino, Blythe, Calipatria, Imperial, San Luis Obispo, and San Diego.

 

Speaking from personal experience, working at a correctional facility is, though often challenging, extremely and surprisingly rewarding as you are helping out people who desperately need quality health care and are quite grateful upon receiving it.
